Professionally known as ‘Post-Production’, Video Editing is where your ideas become a reality. It is through this service that we make the video look how exactly how you envisioned at the start of the project.
Using special techniques and incorporating colour grading, sound design, editing to music and title animation it is here that we take your concept and make it a reality.
So what exactly is video editing? Well without the editing your video would just be hours of random footage without any structure or form. So it is here that we will log and transfer all of the footage, choose the best clips and then add those clips into a video timeline in a sequence which works best for your video. During this phase we will also tweak the look of visuals via colour grading and other techniques to make sure the structure of your video works well. Also if you have opted in for title animations then it is also during the edit-phase that we will incorporate any graphic animations into your video.
Apart from the visual side, it is also during this phase that we will incorporate music and (if required) additional sound effects. The audio is just as important as the visual in a video, so we will ensure all audio levels are just right so the audience can hear everything clearly.
Video editing works two-fold, firstly as standard whenever we complete a full video project involving filming then we will always edit the footage together professionally at the end. However many times clients already have all of their footage filmed and simply need the footage edited together into a professional looking video. In this case we will simply take a copy of all your footage, go through and choose all of the best clips and then edit together the video you have requested.
Editing is a process that is generally quite time consuming since this is where we will be perfecting your video and adding all the ‘bells and whistles’ if you will! The time that it takes to edit a video can vary and is something we will discuss with you during the project development, however as a ‘rule of thumb’ it generally equates to twice the amount of time spent filming. So if you had 1 day of filming then the edit is likely to take 2 days – as a rough idea.
As with most things, nothing will be perfect the first time round and this is why with every video edit we allow you to make a full list of changes to ensure you get the chance to watch the video and get us to make any amendments you want.
