Our Method of Working

Although every project we undertake is unique, the way in which we work always remains the same. Below is a breakdown of every step we take to ensure your project is completed to the highest quality and gives a little more insight as to what you can expect when working with us.

Step 1: Planning

Whether you’ve contacted us via the website, telephone or we’ve met with you to discuss your project in person – we will always start by asking a general list of questions to ensure we know exactly what your project entails and how we will be able to fulfil your requirements. These questions usually involve points such as:

  • What main purpose is the video aiming to achieve?
  • Do you know what style of video you would like created?
  • How many days filming are required?
  • Do you have a location for the filming?
  • Do you need a script written?
  • Are actors required?
  • If you’re sending us previously shot footage, what style of editing do you need?

Once we have all of these questions answered we are then able to send across a definitive project quote and proposal which will clearly outline what would be included within the project and how much it will cost. Once approved, we will then work alongside you to help with any pre-production aspects you need such as sourcing actors/voiceover artists, finding locations and sorting dates for filming etc.

Step 2: Production

Once we have a clear idea of what we’re looking to achieve we then move onto the actual production of your video. For filming days we will arrive promptly at the time required and take approx 30 minutes to get the equipment setup ready for the shoot (possibly longer for larger shoots involving lighting rigs etc). From our planning stage we will also arrive with a pre-made shot list to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible on shoot days and we can complete everything within the time allocated.

Once the filming is complete (this may be over a period of time depending on the size of the project) we then move onto editing your video(s). This stage is the longest process out of all the steps because this is where we spend the time literally making the video and involves the following process:

  • logging all of the footage and noting the best shots
  • Editing the all of the footage together.
  • Creating animated titles (if required)
  • Adding music, sound effects, voiceovers and titles
  • Export of the first draft of the video

Stage 3: Project Completion

Once we provide you with the first draft of your video(s) you are then entitled to our ‘full list of changes’ policy (this comes as standard with all projects) in which you can send across a list with as many changes as you would like. We’ll then get everything taken care of and send across your ‘fine cut’ (as it’s professionally known!) which should be either 99-100% correct and we’ll make any final tweaks if required.

Once you’ve proofed the final cut we then export the video in as many formats as you require and can even upload it directly to your YouTube Channel or Social Media pages if it helps. As with all our projects you will own the copyright to the video and footage, which we can either send to you with your project hard drive or keep this in the office on file in case you ever want to use the footage/files at a later date.
